About Atascosa Livestock Exchange

Atascosa Livestock Exchange, Inc. is an auction facility that is located at 2002 Hwy. 97 West between Pleasanton and Jourdanton, Texas. This facility holds its sales every Tuesday morning at 10:00 A.M. and auctions off a variety of goats, hogs, horses and cattle. We receive cattle on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. At the present time, this auction runs an average of 495 head of cattle per week. However, this operation will accommodate 2500 head and  serves an approximate 100 mile radius.

James R. (Jim) Wheeler has been actively involved in this business since his Father, Roy Wheeler, and his friend, Eugene Schwertner partnered this operation back in 1958. As tradition would have it, after the passing of Mr. Roy Wheeler back in January of 2013, the operation is now run by his son, Jim Wheeler, who is assisted by his son, Gus.
